A brief history
The Aguike Foundation for Health and Educational Empowerment, originally known as the Ark of God’s Love Foundation, is a nongovernmental organization founded by Rev. Fr. Aloysius Ike Agu in 2016.
The inspiration for the foundation came while Rev. Fr. Ike was working at the Catholic Institute of Development, Justice, and Peace in Enugu, Nigeria, and serving as the chaplain at Holy Rosary College (HRC), Enugu. During his time at HRC, he noticed a disparity among the students: some had surplus resources, while others lacked basic necessities. This observation motivated him to gather students who had excess resources to help those in need.
The initial group that started this act of kindness included Chiamaka Ugboma, Oduonye Ifunanya, Obi Chinemelum, and Rev. Fr. Aloysius Ike Agu. From these humble beginnings, the foundation grew significantly. Today, it has over 10 staff members and many auxiliary members.
Fast forward to the present, the Aguike Foundation stands as a beacon of hope and possibility. Its impact has reached far and wide, igniting transformational journeys for countless individuals through its programs, events, and projects. The organization’s legacy is etched in the stories of individuals who have found their voices, pursued their passions, and carved out pathways to success they once thought unattainable.
As the Aguike Foundation forges ahead into the future, its story continues to unfold with the promise of even greater impact. With the support of a growing network of supporters, partners, and volunteers, the organization remains committed to inspiring change on a global scale.
Join us in celebrating the past, shaping the present, and co-creating a future where empowerment knows no bounds. Together, we write the next chapter of the Aguike Foundation story, where every voice matters and every action counts.
